Essential Oils for Natural Healing

by tracey

Using essential oils to cope with medical problems is nothing new. Even the Bible refers to essential oils as a means for curing some ailments. In addition to the stories surrounding healing oils, recent history has included scientific research on the healing properties of essential oils. Many oils are considered powerful medications that provide as much relief as allopathic medicine, but in a way that is much better for the body. Instead of masking symptoms or making a health problem worse, essential oils target the true cause of an ailment and encourage the body to fight back against what is causing pain or discomfort.

Some of the best healing essential oils include lemon and orange, cinnamon, and clove. Citrus oils improve circulation, helping the body recover as quickly as possible. Strong circulation also improves the health of skin. They are also anti-microbial and capable of killing viruses, fungi, and various bacteria. Research has also shown citrus oils reduce the effects of stress, both internal and external.

Cinnamon and clove oils are some of the strongest antioxidant oils. The antioxidant effects found in these oils is equivalent to that found in several quarts of carrot juice or 10 oranges. Cinnamon is also a natural way to balance blood sugar. It reduces the amount of insulin in the blood stream and creates stability, while also decreasing inflammation.

If you want to expand your collection of healing oils, these four are a great place to begin. Just remember that, though natural, essential oils are still very potent and should be used as directed.
